The AMPG think tank of prominent, cross sectoral red meat industry figures, was put together after those forums to drive the resolutions forward.

Over the past year, we've been meeting with various politicians and industry bodies and garnering support for those resolutions from the industry itself.

At the end of August, we lodged the attached submission:

Inquiry into the Role and Effectiveness of Government Meat and Livestock Australia, LiveCorp and Relevant Industry Bodies in Improving Animal Welfare Standards in Australia’s Live Export Markets

MLA VOTING ENTITLEMENTS

From the The Northern Star in March, the article attached to the submission, a number of the levy payers in the MLA’s TOP 50 VOTING ENTITLEMENTS (2008) are members of the AMPG.

The more voting entitlements we have in support of reform, the more chance we have of achieving it.

Its important therefore to make the effort obtain your own MLA voting entitlements for this years AGM BEFORE OCTOBER 5TH.

If you don't do so before October 5th, the MLA will restrict you to 1 vote.

Its is a straightforward and easy process to claim your votes.

Going forward, a series of critical meetings are in train and we will advise of the outcomes of these are soon as we are able to.
